This Eastern medical practice has become increasingly popular in the Western hemisphere as a form of holistic and alternative medicine. In Chinese medicine, it is believed that when there is a block of energy flow or an imbalance of energy (qi) in the body, it becomes sick. By placing small, round tipped needles at specific meridian points throughout the body, the imbalances of energy can be corrected, alleviating pain. Acupuncture also stimulates the endorphins and opioids, your body’s natural pain killers, which encourages your body’s natural healing process. Acupuncture treatments are virtually pain-free and can be very relaxing.

Acupuncture can be used to treat the following:

  • Neck pain
  • Lower back and chronic back pain
  • Muscle spasms
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Hip pain
  • Migraines and headaches
  • Amongst many other conditions…
  • Infertility
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Stress-Control
  • Insomnia
  • Nausea And Vomiting
  • Gastrointestinal Issues
  • Respiratory Disorders
  • Circulatory Problem
  • And Much More…

WHAT SHOULD YOU EXPECT ON YOUR FIRST VISIT?

Our acupuncturist will perform evaluation prior to your session. A customized treatment plan will then be created based on your personalized assessment and the conditions that you would like to be alleviated.

DO THE NEEDLES HURT?

The needles used in acupuncture are usually no thicker than a strand of hair, so they are very small in size. These needles differ from hypodermic (the kinds used for shots) in several ways. Their round-tip enables them to splay the skin rather than pierce it. Acupuncture needles are solid, not hollow, and they consist of two metals wrapped around each other which creates a local current with the body when the needles are placed in the skin. The twinge from an acupuncture needle is minor and usually well-tolerated.

HOW LONG WILL MY TREATMENT BE?

Each session lasts about 30-45 minutes, however the length of time that the needles are inserted is 20 minutes. In terms of the duration length of your entire treatment, that is case-by-case based on the severity of your condition and your progress.
